Clir is proud to announce that we have completed an independent external examination of our information security and have received a SOC 2 Type 2 audit report. Data security has always been top of mind for Clir, but the increase in threats and breaches during the pandemic proves that no industry is free from these attacks.
A SOC 2 audit is an external attestation of a company's information security practices that evaluates the controls, procedures and documentation of our security practices. A widely recognized examination standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a SOC 2 Type 2 audit verifies that we have successfully designed and implemented a set of policies and controls to manage the risk of an event affecting the security of any data under Clir’s control. A trained cybersecurity auditor has examined our internal and external information security program and has verified that the processes we have in place to protect our clients' data are secure and effective.
Specifically, the Type 2 report means that not only do we have the policies and controls designed, but we can also prove that they have been operating effectively over a period of time. The SOC 2 examination will be run on a yearly basis.
